MIcrosoft's Word 11 runs.obviously, on Intel-based Macs. My suggestion to the OP was to delete the existing software (office) and reinstall it. As I am running the latest Apple software, I think my view is quite relevant. I chimed into the thread with a suggestion as your profile (if it is correct) shows obsolete software and hardware. I Addressed the OP - who has the latest version.

I do not use Word anymore, but you have the latest version.
There is no logical reason why the programs are not opening If nothing was changed, but things do happen. At this point, I would delete the program (office too, since it is not working), and then reinstall it.
